H&R Construction does not lay-off managers between projects. We appreciate the hard work, dedication and drive that it takes to complete a project on time and on budget. Our superintendents who find themselves between projects are given paid time off. Sometimes they work on other projects or help the company in any way possible before starting their next project.

H&R Construction employees have the opportunity to start as a laborer and work up to project manager, or any position in between. Our projects range is size from $40,000 to $30,000,000. This allows us to create opportunities and challenges for young or inexperienced entry level managers all the way up to senior level managers on multi-million dollar projects.
Like to travel? H&R Construction has worked in over 15 states across the country. Our projects typically range from six to nine months. If you are someone who enjoys a change of scenery, we can provide opportunities all over the country. Employees are highly compensated for traveling, and traveling provides a major opportunity to advance your career quickly. We also have a number of traveling superintendents who do not live close to our home office.
H&R Construction is located in South Sioux City, Nebraska, in the heart of the Midwest. Our location is referred to as the "Tri-State area". If you work in or around our home office you have the choice of living in Iowa, Nebraska or South Dakota as all states have cities that border each other. The Tri-State area offers a variety of great schools and a very low crime rate. The area has great recreational opportunities for the outdoorsman, sports fanatic, or concert goer.
We offer flexible scheduling when possible. Traveling supervisors are given time off between projects to spend with their families and recharge their batteries. Local employees are typically limited to 40 hour work weeks so they can maintain a schedule outside of work. Many of our jobsites work four ten hour days so that employees can have Friday's off. In this industry it is easy for employees to work 50-60 hours per week, at H&R Construction this is rare.
