We do not lay-off managers between projects. We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and drive that it takes to complete a project on time and on budget. Our superintendents who find themselves between projects are given paid time off, often working on other projects or assisting the company in other ways before starting their next project.

  • Travel

Like to travel? H&R Construction has worked in over 15 states across the country. Our projects typically range from six to nine months. If you are someone who enjoys a change of scenery, we can provide opportunities all over the country. Employees are highly compensated for travelling and travelling provides a major opportunity to advance your career quickly. We also have several travelling superintendents who do not live close to our home office.

  • Location

H&R Construction is located in South Sioux City, Nebraska, in the heart of the Midwest. Our location is referred to as the "Tri-State area". If you work in or around our home office you have the choice of living in Iowa, Nebraska, or South Dakota. The Tri-State area offers a variety of great schools and a very low crime rate. The area has great recreational opportunities for the outdoorsman, sports fanatic, or music lover.

  • Work/Life Balance

We offer flexible scheduling when possible. Travelling supervisors are given time off between projects to spend with their families and recharge their batteries. Local employees are typically limited to 40-hour work weeks so they can maintain a schedule outside of work. Many of our job sites work four ten-hour days so that employees can have Friday's off. In this industry, it is easy for employees to work 50-60 hours per week, at H&R Construction this is rare.
