Project Description

Koch Nitrogen in one of the world’s leading suppliers of fertilizers and has plants located in the United States, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago. We were contracted to replace one of Koch’s aging dry fertilizer terminals located outside of Salix, IA. The project consisted of building demolition, equipment deconstruction, foundation modifications, design and installation of a new structural steel building, new fertilizer conveyor equipment, electrical wiring and painting. The dry terminal now contains MAP, Urea and Potash fertilizers. The caustic nature of fertilizer required extra precautions to protect the new structure from corrosion.
